Institutional diagnosis

The project systematized how structural and everyday racism runs through practices, discourses, and experiences within the university community. It included diagnostic workshops, work with the student collectives KUAGROS and ASODEIUM, and social cartographies of experiences of racism on campus.

Central findings

  • Normalization of racist language in everyday academic and administrative life
  • Absence of clear institutional channels for addressing complaints of racial discrimination
  • Curricular invisibilization of Afro-Colombian thinkers
  • Inequality in access to academic opportunities for racialized students

Actions taken

First Anti-racist and Intercultural Education Week

A space for training, gathering, and debate that brought together students, faculty, administrative staff, and regional Afro-Colombian organizations.

Cartography of racism on campus

A collective map of racist experiences lived in different spaces of the university, produced with participatory methodologies.

Documenting institutional racism is the minimum condition for beginning to transform it. What is not named is not addressed.
